In-House Associate General Counsel
Employment Law - Southern California
The attorney in this position will be responsible for counseling on a wide variety of employment law issues; advising on and, in some cases, conducting investigations in connection with employment litigation, arbitration, and internal complaints; and working with internal counsel and outside counsel in preparing documents and devising strategies for employment litigation matters.
The attorney in this position will have direct reports that include other attorneys within the Law Department practicing employment law. This attorney will report to the Vice President, Law overseeing the company’s corporate litigation and employment group within the Law Department.
15+ years of experience practicing employment law, including a mix of both counseling, investigative, and litigation experience.
The successful candidate should possess superior academic achievement; excellent analytic, legal drafting and oral and written communication skills; strong management and leadership skills; strong client service focus; the ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment; and strong interpersonal skills for interaction with internal staff.
Basic Qualifications
• JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law required & 12 Years of experience practicing employment law, including a mix of counseling, investigative, and litigation experience
• 8 years of direct managerial experience
• Previous experience managing managers

In-House Senior Counsel
Corporate Transactional - Southern California
Our client is seeking an attorney with commercial transactional experience available in a desirable Southern California location. Our client is a top-tier, Fortune 500 company and offers a competitive inclusive compensation package. Here are some details about this position:
Counsel would be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating IT, licensing, purchasing, real estate, HR, facilities, treasury, and service, and other agreements with its vendors and global partner. In addition, the job will involve providing advice to a variety of functions relating to commercial transaction matters.
Basic Qualifications
4-6 years of transactional experience as an attorney at either a top law firm or in-house. The position requires a solid background in transactions and commercial contracts, including licensing.
Significant experience drafting and negotiating Information Technology agreements for procurement of hardware, software, systems and consulting services, procurement, human resources, and other corporate services agreements. Real estate experience a plus.
The candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills working effectively with business clients and vendors.
Ability to work independently and to recognize areas of risk/opportunity quickly and accurately.
